Cindy started this company in 1978 with little more than a knowledge of the industry (from an installation point of view), a small corner in a stationery store for her office, and a huge desire to make her customers’ homes beautiful for a reasonable price. One of her greatest talents lies in taking the existing along with the new and pulling everything together. Her number one goal has always been to make sure her customers are happy.
Family is one of Cindy’s greatest joys. You can see the happiness in her eyes when she is surrounded with kids, grand kids and a gaggle of pets.
Owner/Managing Partner
Sunny literally grew up in this industry. His apprenticeship started at the tender age of two when he went out on a carpet installation with Cindy, his mother. Growing up, he spent most of his summers working in the family business. When Sunny was nineteen, he decided to devote 100% of his focus to the floor covering business to see what would happen. As it turned out, Sunny became Cascade’s top sales associate after a year or so. He continued to work very hard to learn every aspect of the business and joined his mother as a partner in the business in 2002.
Sunny also takes great joy in his family and loves to travel and camp with them. He also enjoys scuba diving, baseball, skydiving and the occasional hand of Texas Hold’em.
Alicia assists Cindy Severson and became acquainted with the flooring industry over 9 years ago when she married one of our best installers.
She enjoys spending time with her husband & three kids and in her free time she keeps extremely busy when she’s not working with her two dogs, and their chickens. She also loves hiking around all the beautiful trails the PNW has to offer!
Bill is a 30+ year veteran of the floorcovering industry and has worked in every aspect of the business. He enjoys working with both Commercial and Residential customers to help them take their project from vision to reality. Bill takes a collaborative approach, and truly cares about his client’s goals and current situation.
When Bill isn’t working you can find him outdoors taking care of his animals, sailing the Columbia River and playing Disc Golf … or pounding out chords on his Flying V guitar.
Caitlin is Cindy Severson’s assistant and her daughter-in-law. Having a great attention to detail has served her well in her time assisting Cindy. Married to Cindy's youngest son, Kenny she is surrounded by flooring experts. Her uncle is even an installer. Her biggest joy is having her kiddo's around, bringing the family atmosphere alive at Cascade Flooring America.
Cindy joined the Cascade Family in the Spring of 2010. She is currently a part of Shawn Medak's builder team as his administrative assistant. Cindy loves being behind the scenes helping out in any way that she can, to make a job go as smooth as possible!
Cindy enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters whether it be camping, taking the occasional weekend trip to the mountain or coast, or simply staying close to home and hanging out with friends!
Jeff joined Cascade Flooring America in the Fall of 2014 and became a certified flooring consultant within the first 2 months. He moved on to pursue his passion of working with people and helping them realize their dream of a new look in an old space or a completely new build.
Whatever the customers motive is for coming into Cascade Flooring America, they always seem to crack a smile when working with Jeff. He likes to present flooring options in a fun way, so the focus can stay on the final appearance of the project rather than the tension of product selection. This follows his motto, “taking the boring out of flooring”.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his two boys, baby girl and beautiful wife, as well as back-packing, rock-climbing and brewing beer.
Jewels has been with Cascade Flooring America for over a decade working along side her father Paul Edwards in the builder and retail world of floor covering. Jewels has been around this industry her entire life; her father was an installer while growing up and at one point owned his own floor covering store. Meeting every day with a great smile and a positive attitude to assist customers and making the buying experience a memorable one she makes the success of every job a top priority.
When Jewels isn't working she dedicates her time with her husband Cameron and sons Kingston and Sterling (who you might see in the showroom now and then). Jewels loves to bake yummy treats and cozy up with a good book. Taking walks with her family. Traveling around the world, especially to the Caribbean! When time permits you might find her on the beach watching and listening to the waves or sailing with her family.
Katy joined us in 2004 as an assistant in the bookkeeping department. She learned everything so quickly and did such a great job that Cindy, one of the owners, decided that she wanted Katy as her personal design assistant. Although Katy enjoyed working in the ‘paper end’ of the business, she finds that she really loves working with Cascade’s customers, and has continued classes to learn decorating techniques as well as to increase her product knowledge. She is also a Hunter Douglas® certified sales assistant.
Whether here in our showroom or in your home, Katy will help clients choose the perfect window treatments, flooring or counter tops.
Karen has spent almost twenty-five years in this industry and is very knowledgeable about the many aspects involved in putting a quality project together. Her abilities to adapt quickly and identify solutions make Karen an essential part of the “Cascade family.” With the invaluable skills gained working as a sales representative for one of our vendors, then as a member of our sales team, she now lends her expansive knowledge as part of the office team, enjoying putting her skills to work in yet another facet of our industry.
Karen’s love of family and decorating are evident in her office area where she surrounds herself with photos, plants, and decorative art.
Kevan Kelsey has been a part of the cascade flooring team since march of 2013. He has been on both our warehouse and installation crews learning the ins and outs of the flooring industry. Recently he has transitioned to our sales staff bringing lots of hands on knowledge with him.
During his spare time he has trained in mixed martial arts and completed a associates degree at Clark college, but now he spends most of his time with his family enjoying all the new experiences that come with raising a son.
A veteran of this industry since the mid 80s, Lynn strives to provide the best possible customer service for his clients, a dedication that extends to running ‘emergency material deliveries’ to assure that installers have everything they need on the job for a great installation.
Lynn loves golf and says he tries to play ‘at least twice a year.’ (We think at least a few dozen times would be more accurate). Bowling is another of his many talents and he manages to score around the 200 mark most of the time.” Lynn’s children are involved in sports which keeps him pretty busy acting as their personal practice trainer and chauffeur. Two of his older sons are experienced filmmakers and insist that he ‘star’ in their Christmas movies. So far, the Hollywood offers are not pouring in, much to Lynn’s chagrin and our delight.
Ross has been around the flooring industry since he was a young child. He grew up helping out at his family’s flooring store in Battle Ground before he went off to college with a dream of pursuing a career in music. After a few years in school, a couple small tours with his band and a short stint on a popular televised singing competition, Ross was blessed to fall in love and start a family. Since then, he has been in the industry expanding his knowledge of flooring products and enjoying the relationships he’s built with his customers.
He now spends his free time building things, listening to and playing music and spending time with his 2 daughters.
Russ Ham joined the CFA team in 2017 as a transfer from our sister store, Dillabaugh’s Flooring America In Boise Idaho. He started his career in the cell phone industry for 16 years as well as working at JR Lumber. He made the switch to the flooring industry in 2013 and decided to come west to this area to pursue his passion for buying and selling art in his spare time. The question is, what will he have on display at his desk the next time you’re in?
Russ has been a great addition to this team with his knowledge he brought from his previous flooring experience and enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 children of his own, 2 step kids and the newest addition to his family, his Grandson!
Shannon Harms brings both the knowledge of all the products along with the most trending style designs to every project. She enjoys working with people and has had many roles here at Cascade adding to her overall knowledge of the business.
In her off time, she enjoys traveling, playing in the sun and spending time with her son.
Shawn began learning about this business more than twelve years ago when he started cleaning carpets with his cousin, Sunny Parsons. That experience gave them a great base knowledge about all the different types of carpet and how they wear and look over the years. After spending several years in the financial world, Shawn rejoined the family fold as a Floor Covering Specialist and works exclusively with our builder clientele. The builders appreciate Shawn’s eye for detail and technical expertise and are confident that they can rely on him to get the job done on their schedule.
Shawn is a great family man and when time allows, loves to play golf, poker, and is a self-admitted sports ‘fanatic.’ He also loves to participate in the ‘my team is best’ discussions that occur on a regular basis around lunch time.
Anna, a Clark County Native joined the CFA Team in 2006 and has been working in the Floor Covering Industry since 1988.
She enjoys spending time with her growing family which includes her husband, children and 6 grandchildren. Anna also loves gardening and traveling to warm sunny destinations.
Cherynnia Cristobal is the Director of First Impressions at the main showroom Monday – Thursday. She has breezed through the five star sales certification process eager to assist clients to the products that will fit their lifestyle and needs. In the last year that Cherynnia has been with Cascade Flooring, she has moved into a few different positions as she has proven she is a very task orientated worker who also loves meeting new people!
Cherynnia is very active in her children’s school activities and coaches sports in her off time.
Jaime is part of the Cascade Flooring America family in more ways than one; she is married to Sunny Parsons, Co-owner of CFA. Jaime was an integral part of the bookkeeping department for seven years before deciding to take a leave-of-absence to stay at home with their two children for a few years.
Family is Jaime's number one priority in life and she spends a lot of time making sure they have as many family oriented activities as possible. They love traveling and camping with friends and family. Jaime is also a force to be reckoned with on the soccer field and has begun running marathons and working outside with plants and flowers. Even with all of that activity she and Sunny still manage to get in the occasional 'adult' weekend with friends.
Store Manager
Liz joined the Cascade family in 2007 and transitioned into the store manager position in 2014. As a native to this area, Liz and her family enjoy many local nature activities such as camping, clam digging and fishing. She definitely enjoys being outdoors but Liz's favorite activity is just being together with her two daughters and husband of 20 years.
Susan Helmer is a native the Pacific Northwest. Her background as a mortgage coordinator and her absolute love for math made her a perfect fit for our bookkeeping department.
In Susan’s off time, she enjoys gardening and curling up with a good book. Her biggest love is her family, she is blessed with a wonderful husband of 14 years and two beautiful sons.
Yelena joined us in the summer of 2005 bringing a variety of business experience with her, including four years of working in business services for the District Courts in San Francisco. She also had a familiarity with the flooring industry through her husband who has been installing floor coverings for many years.
Yelena says that since she has five children, she has no time for hobbies, but when she does manage to put a few idle minutes together, she likes to dabble in real estate.
Dan Zherebnenko is the oldest of five kids, he grew up in the industry and has mastered the art of hard surfaces. Dan is married and enjoys hanging out with his son who is ten.
In his off time, he spends time out on the rivers on wave runners and loves traveling to warm weather destinations.
Jay moved to Vancouver in 2001 and graduated from Skyview High School in 2006. Upon graduation, he apprenticed as a carpet installer with Tom Severson. Jay enjoys installing carpet and vinyl and has stated that this is a "lifelong career."
Jay is married and stays busy as the father of a two beautiful daughters. His hobbies are dirt bikes and poker.
As the son of Cindy Severson and brother of Sunny Parsons, owners of Cascade Flooring America, Kenny literally grew up in the business. Upon graduating from high school, he decided to join the family business as an installer.
Kenny enjoys football, basketball and weight training.
Matt learned about many aspects of the floor covering industry while he worked for a local floor covering installation business several years ago. He became acquainted with Cascade through the many jobs they did for us as subcontractors. Matt joined our floor covering team in 2010 and dedicates himself to ensuring that every job is a ‘quality job.’
When Matt isn’t working, he loves home improvement projects not only for his own home but helping his family improve their homes as well. Matt also enjoys spending time riding his quad, golfing and spending time with his wife.
Rich Bean is our company estimator who visits your home and accurately measures the space you're interested in for new material. He originally started as an installer here at Cascade Flooring in 1989. Since then, he has worn many hats from sales to warehouse manager and now as the estimator.
He is currently working full time while squeezing in gigs with his band every chance he gets. Rich is a very talented professional musician with a beautiful daughter and loving wife of 22 years.
Scott has been in the flooring industry for 25 years. He is very detail oriented and always strives for perfection. Scott began his career as a carpet installer, but over the years has perfected the skills necessary to install tile, stone, wood, vinyl, laminate wood and counter tops, too. Scott has a very unique set of characteristics; he is both punctual and a perfectionist, yet he is also very laid back and easy going. He becomes friends with everyone he meets.
When he’s not working, his main hobby is hunting for rocks, which he then cuts and polishes. Scott is very outdoorsy and loves to camp. He and his wife of many years have 9 children. Scott is also the doting grandfather of his first grandchild.
Tyreena Mason joined Cascade’s floor covering installation team in 2009. She brought twelve years of experience with her beginning in a small fabrication shop where she learned to build solid surface counter tops. After six years as a fabricator and supervisor, she was ready for a change and began training as a floor covering installer and remodeler’s assistant. Tyreena loves the challenges, attention to detail and problem-solving opportunities that are required for a job very well done. She likes nothing better than leaving a job site where a happy customer is admiring their new floor covering.
When Tyreena isn’t working, she enjoys studying the Bible, cooking, hiking, camping, skiing and most of all, spending time with her family and friends and just enjoying a beautiful day.
Tom has spent the last 29 years in the floor covering industry, first as an apprentice in Local 1236 of the Floor Covering Union and then as a journeyman for the next 21 years. His specialty is carpet but also installs vinyl and laminate flooring. Tom joined Cascade’s floor covering installation family in 2003 and has become very important not only in installations but in the training aspect as well. Tom prides himself on the quality of every installation and won’t leave the job until everything looks great and the customer is happy with their floor coverings.
After family and home, one of Tom’s favorite past times is going outdoors on a great afternoon with his metal detector searching for illusive treasures. He has a very interesting collection of old metal items including jewelry and coins. It’s always fun when Tom brings in his latest ‘find’ to share with us.
Debbie Haasl-Hall, our warehouse manager, has been involved in the floor covering business (in one form or another) since she was a child.
Time with family is her favorite thing. She has 2 grown children, and three grandchildren. Travel is also a favorite past time.
Frank joined the Cascade Flooring America installation team in 2009, bringing with him twenty years of experience in the industry. Before Frank became a Cascade employee, he had been doing quality work for us as a subcontractor since 1991. His professional goal is to apply all of his talents, abilities and experience to each job and leave it looking beautiful for the customer.
Frank has two beautiful children who are “his world” and a wonderful wife. They all love fishing and watching NASCAR together and, occasionally, Frank gets in a game of golf when he can work it into his busy schedule.
A longtime computer nut and member of the Cascade Family, Michael has stepped in as the server administrator and general ‘IT’ guy, finding lost printers and dealing with other ‘errant’ technology.
When he isn’t on call, Michael works on publishing his first novel. Away from the computer, he loves to spend time in the kitchen trying new recipes, brewing beer, or reading a good book. An avid traveler, he’s visited numerous countries, with more planned for the future.
